Very bad and shocking news that really hurts… Y.S.Sharmila is a well known woman in Andhra Pradesh, as a daughter of former chief minister late Dr. Y S Rajshekar Reddy and sister of YSRCP founder YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has requested the city Cyber Crime police to take action against search engines, including Google, for allegedly displaying her name prominently in the search results with regard to “baseless rumours” about her personal life.
A day after the Central Crime Station police arrested two youths for posting ‘morphed obscene pictures’ of YSRCP leader Y S Sharmila and Tollywood actor Prabhas suggesting that the duo were having an affair, she lodged a complaint with Hyderabad police commissioner M Mahender Reddy on Saturday, seeking immediate action against the mischief-makers who posted obscene photos.
A five-page complaint signed by Sharmila was submitted to the police commissioner by YSRCP leaders Y V Subba Reddy and Somayajulu.
Sharmila requested the police commissioner to take necessary action against the search engines, including Safari of Apple and Google, as those engines are promoting and encouraging dissemination of baseless information by prominently displaying rumours relating to her name were typed.
She further requested the police to issue appropriate directions to all the concerned to forthwith block all such websites posting such scurrilous and incorrect information and take all further steps, including the issue of appropriate directions to various search engines and social media portals, to forthwith desist from displaying such malicious allegations.
“I have to write to you with a heavy heart out of a deep sense of pain not only to protect my honour and dignity but also because the said issue deals with the honour of every wife, every mother, every daughter and every sister. A slush of malevolence, filled with sadism and darkness, is always callously splashed on a woman when she is seen as a person of substance. It is the hardest time for a woman when she has to explain herself, about something others have done to her. I have also been targeted. It is a shame that today’s politics has become so lowly, insensitive and unmindful toward a woman,” she said in her complaint.
Citing the recent rumours doing the rounds on the Internet, Sharmila said she had been linked with Telugu film actor Prabhas. “Somebody I have never seen, never met or ever spoken to once. A smear campaign against me in the cruellest manner was launched with the sole intention to tarnish my honour and dignity. I would like to point to the fact that, out of the tons of websites that run these baseless rumours on me, not one single website was able to give one single evidence supporting their claim which in itself shows that these rumours are baseless,” she added.
In her complaint, she said that being an woman, she was an ethical wife and mother, ethical daughter and sister.
“I am deeply hurt and offended, any honourable woman would be. It’s not just about me, it’s about the dignity of every woman. And so, I urge you not to be a silent spectator. My family and friends will understand my reaction. I know they don’t doubt me. I know they love me and will protect me. I know they respect me enough to strengthen me in this moment of pain. I am certain that Prabhas will also take cognizance of this act of cowardice and vehemently condemn these hideous rumours. This demeaning unsubstantiated malicious intent against women should be stemmed. And the social and political rot should be addressed fearlessly and with a firm collective will,” Sharmila said.
Shame on people who enter into others personal life and do false allegations for theirpersonal benefits.
